Confusion reigns at Essendon, with contracted coach Ben Rutten set to consult with his family before making a decision on his future at the club.

The 39-year-old was due to host his weekly press conference on Friday and was in good spirits at training ahead of his side’s final game this week, but doubt remains on whether the press conference will go ahead.
