Blake Shelton showered his wife Gwen Stefani with love and praise on their first wedding anniversary.
The country singer took to Instagram Sunday to share a throwback photo from their wedding and reveal that it has been the best year of his life.
“Happy anniversary to the woman that makes my world go round… [Gwen Stefani], because of you, this year has been the best year of my life. I love you!!!! Thank you for saying yes!” the “God Gave Me You” singer wrote alongside a photo of him smiling with his arms wrapped around Stefani, who has both of her hands on her face as she grins.
Stefani also marked their marriage milestone with a tribute to Shelton on social media. She shared footage from their wedding on Instagram.
“1 year down, forever to go @blakeshelton,” she wrote alongside a series of clips from their big day while Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” played in the background.
Shelton and Stefani tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony attended by their closest friends and family in a backyard chapel on his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, on July 3, 2021. Their longtime pal and fellow “Voice” star Carson Daly officiated their wedding.
“They purposely kept the wedding simple,” an unnamed source close to Stefani told People. “They didn’t want a circus. In the end, they just wanted to have this moment with their loved ones.”
In an interview with People in November 2021, Shelton shared the most meaningful part of their wedding for him. The “Nobody But You” crooner said he was moved by his wife’s wedding vows because Stefani mentioned his late brother and father “as if she had known them almost.”
“She didn’t make it seem that way, but it felt that way as she was speaking about them. She said she wished they were there and what kind of men she thinks they must’ve been,” Shelton explained. “Man, it hit me. Like, I couldn’t believe how hard it hit me. I felt like at this point, I’ve kind of gotten calloused. I guess I’m not because that absolutely slayed me. It’s hard to even remember what else she even said. I’ll never forget that feeling.”
