The Diamonds will play seven Tests in three weeks in autumn, while Australia’s men’s team will feature in double-headers alongside their female colleagues.
In what shapes as a mouth-watering month of netball, Australia will head across the ditch to face the Silver Ferns to kick-start this year’s Constellation Cup.
They will meet New Zealand in Auckland on 12 October, before backing up later in the week in Tauranga on 16 October.
The trans-Tasman rivals will then meet twice in Australia, first in Melbourne on 19 October and then on the Gold Coast on October 23 to wrap up the series.
The Diamonds will then play three Tests against England over eight days, beginning in Newcastle on 26 October, next in Sydney on 30 October before wrapping up the series in Brisbane on November 3.
Australia’s male team will also feature twice alongside the Diamonds, first against New Zealand in Melbourne on 19 October and later against England in Sydney on October 30. A third match against New Zealand in Auckland on October 12 has also been scheduled.
Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan said the fixtures were a historic moment for the sport.
“This is a historic announcement for our sport, marking the first time the Australian men’s team will play alongside the Australian Diamonds,” Ryan said.
“This forms part of our commitment to growing the game for boys and men and making our sport more inclusive for everyone. We are extremely excited to work alongside the Australian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association to showcase this country’s best male netballers and hopefully inspire the next generation of boys and girls to pick up a netball.
“After almost three years, we can’t wait to watch the Diamonds play on home soil and pack stadiums across Victoria, Queensland and NSW.”
