Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hit the road in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. The Buccaneers visit the Dallas Cowboys in a rematch of the 2021 season opener. Dallas, led by Dak Prescott, is coming off an NFC East title and a Wild Card round defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. Tampa Bay lost by a 30-27 margin to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round last season after posting a 13-4 record in the regular season.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Tampa Bay as a 2.5-point road favorite, and kick-off is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET. The total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, or the over/under, is 50.5 in the latest Buccaneers vs. Cowboys odds. Before you evaluate the Cowboys vs. Buccaneers match-up and make any NFL predictions, you need to see the NFL predictions and SNF betting advice from SportsLine’s advanced computer model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,500 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters the 2022 NFL season on an incredible 138-97 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. Amazingly, it hasn’t missed a top-rated pick since Week 15 of last season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick’em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, the model has set its sights on Buccaneers vs. Cowboys and just locked in its picks and Sunday Night Football predictions. You can head to SportsLine now to see the model’s picks. Now, here are several NFL odds and betting lines for Cowboys vs. Bucs:

    Why the Buccaneers can cover

Tampa Bay’s calling card is an elite offense led by Brady, but the Buccaneers also deploy a top-flight defense. The Buccaneers finished in the top five of the NFL in points allowed in 2021, and Tampa Bay was No. 3 in the league in rushing defense. Tampa Bay faces a stiff challenge against Dallas’ offense, but the Cowboys were No. 22 in turnover rate last season and finished just 6-6 against teams outside of the NFC East.

On offense, Tampa Bay scored 511 points in 2021, second-most in the NFL, and the Buccaneers were in the top three in points per drive, first downs, and total yards. The Buccaneers scored points on 44.3 percent of offensive possessions in 2021, and Tom Brady led the league in passing yards, completions, sack rate allowed, and touchdown passes. With a talented and deep skill position group, Tampa Bay is exceptionally difficult to defend.

    Why the Cowboys can cover

The Cowboys have tremendous star power on both sides of the ball. Dallas led the NFL in scoring last season, and Prescott generated a franchise record with 37 touchdown passes in 2021. He ranked in the top seven of the league in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and passer rating, while wideout CeeDee Lamb racked up more than 1,100 receiving yards last season. At running back, Ezekiel Elliott leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage (9,630) since he entered the league in 2016, and he is one of only two players in NFL history with 1,200 scrimmage yards and eight touchdowns in each of his first six seasons.

Elliott is paired with Tony Pollard, who has explosiveness and the ability to stretch the defense, and Dallas put an elite defense on the field in 2021. The Cowboys led the league in takeaways, with top-three marks in pressure rate and passer rating allowed. Micah Parsons is at the center of the attack as the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, and he was the first player since 2012 to achieve at least 84 tackles and 13 sacks as a rookie.

How to make Buccaneers vs. Cowboys picks

SportsLine’s model is leaning Over on the point total, with the model calling for 53 points. The model also says one side of the spread hits in over 50% of simulations. You can only see the model’s Cowboys vs. Buccaneers picks at SportsLine.

So who wins Bucs vs. Cowboys on Sunday Night Football? And which side of the spread hits in over 50% of simulations? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of the Buccaneers vs. Cowboys spread you need to jump on Sunday, all from the model that’s 138-97 on NFL picks, and find out.
