Daily Harvest has issued a recall for its French Lentil + Leek Crumbles after multiple reports from customers of gastrointestinal illnesses and potential liver function issues.

According to the recall notice, from April 28 to June 17, about 28,000 units of the French Lentil + Leek Crumbles were distributed to consumers in the U.S.

Daily Harvest’s French Lentil + Leek Crumbles can be identified as a frozen product that is packaged in a 12-ounce white pouch with “Daily Harvest” printed at the top and “Crumbles” and French Lentil + Leek also listed on the top of the package.

The company said all lot codes of the product are included in the recall, but no other Daily Harvest products are affected.

Consumers bought the product through online sales, direct delivery, at the Daily Harvest store in Chicago, and through a pop-up shop in Los Angeles, where some consumers were given samples of the affected product.

Daily Harvest has since notified impacted consumers by mail that were shipped the affected French Lentil + Leek Crumbles and any other consumers it had contact information for. These customers were issued a credit for the recalled product, Daily Harvest said.

However, Daily Harvest believes that some consumers may still have the recalled French Lentil + Leek Crumbles in their freezers. It is urging people to immediately dispose of the product.

Daily Harvest said it has received 470 reports of people who became ill or had adverse reactions linked to the French Lentil + Leek Crumbles.

The company said it has “taken immediate steps to stop production and distribution of the product and conduct a root cause investigation, which is ongoing.”

For questions about the recall or to report adverse reactions, consumers can contact Daily Harvest at crumbles-recall@daily-harvest.com or at https://www.dailyharvest.com/content/french-lentil-leek-crumbles-advisory or call the company at 1-888-302-0305 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, seven days a week.
