Elon Musk has responded to claims that he had a luxurious lunch with a dozen “attractive people” in Mykonos, Greece, just a day after shutting down rumors that he had an alleged affair with the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
An anonymous source claimed to Page Six that Musk was spotted “with 12 attractive people at billionaires hotspot Nammos — where he ran up a 12,000 Euro ($12,170) bill and left a 3,000 Euro ($3,040) tip in his lunch bill.”
However, when reached for comment by the outlet, the Tesla CEO denied racking up a pricey lunch bill and dining with a dozen attractive companions.
“I went to lunch with [Endeavor CEO] Ari Emanuel and his wife, and a few others, not ’12 attractive people.’ I had no date. Not sure what the lunch bill was, but nowhere near that high,” Musk told Page Six.
Last week, Musk — who was among the guests at Emanuel, 61, and 33-year-old fashion designer Sarah Staudinger’s recent wedding in St. Tropez, France — was seen with the couple and other friends on vacation in Greece.
During the trip, the SpaceX founder was photographed shirtless aboard a near-$20,000-per-week yacht called the Zeus, getting hosed down by Emanuel.
Page Six’s sources claimed that the “attractive” group who joined Musk, Emanuel and Staudinger for lunch at Nammos were some of the fashion designer’s friends.
This comes days after the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published a report claiming that the tech mogul allegedly had a “brief affair” with Brin’s wife Nicole Shanahan in December last year. The fling allegedly ended Musk’s long-standing friendship with Brin and resulted in Brin filing for divorce earlier this year, the report claimed.
The report also claimed that Musk allegedly begged Brin for his forgiveness during a party earlier this year. Brin reportedly acknowledged the apology, but he still isn’t speaking to Musk regularly, according to WSJ.
However, Musk took to Twitter to deny the affair allegations, calling the report “total bs.”
“Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!” Musk tweeted Sunday of the Wall Street Journal report. “I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”
The billionaire also told the New York Post in an email: “I spoke to both Sergey and Nicole about the article and they were both adamant that they had not talked to WSJ, nor authorized anyone to speak on their behalf. Moreover, I was with Sergey from Saturday night to yesterday afternoon with many mutual friends and it was a super positive vibe.”
