Ex-WWE Talents May Express Interest In Returning Under Triple H

WWE fans are extremely high on the rise of Triple H to the position of head creative after having such an illustrious in-ring career that featured multiple title reigns and a successful stint as the showrunner of NXT in 2012.

However, it did not prevent him from being forced to say his farewells to the household names he created with the then-black-and-gold brand as performers were either released or opted to leave once their contracts expired.

Outside observers believe this to be because of how then-creative head Vince McMahon was running the show on the main roster.

With Triple H at the helm, there are those talents who expressed their interest in having him be the main man.

“One former NXT talent that had options within WWE before signing elsewhere said that they felt an incredible sense of loyalty to Triple H, and had he been the person managing their creative future ‘things could have been much different,’” Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported.

Sapp noted that this performer and another had signed with rival company All Elite Wrestling (AEW) after their tenures with WWE ended.

“One said ‘I’m glad that I went to AEW, but if I was graduating to a Triple H-led Smackdown or Raw, I probably would have re-signed with WWE before my deal was up,’” the journalist shared.

There are a ton of NXT personnel who were released in the past two years in the name of budget cuts, and while many have moved on to sign with other companies, it seems as if there is major support for Triple H.

“Another top free agent that has several options that we spoke to said that both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon being in their positions greatly increases the possibility of them eventually heading back to the company,” Sapp later added.

The amount of confidence that these former WWE personnel have in Triple H’s capabilities to put them in positions to succeed comes as no surprise after he made NXT a major household brand despite having to build most talent from the ground up.

He did opt to sign multiple independent wrestling stars to NXT first before they were called up to the main roster, but it was never seen as a crutch by outside observers, instead being viewed as a way to bring legitimacy to the brand.

The hope now is for him to create marketable stars that they can feature in multiple feuds and programs without fans questioning their credibility.
