Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson wanted her critics to know how her relationship with her much older boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, was holding up in her recent social media post.
The 16-year-old shared a photo of her sweetly embracing her 21-year-old beau while at the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Colorado. The pair was all smiles for the photo op.
In the snap, Honey Boo Boo sported a white hoodie, black leggings and white sneakers. She let her naturally curly hair down and appeared to be makeup-free. On the other hand, Dralin wore a white t-shirt, gray pants and white sneakers. He had a sweatshirt tied at his waist.
“Stronger than ever [pink heart emoji],” Alana captioned the post.
Fans quickly showered the teen star’s update with compliments.
“You’re sooooo cute together!!!!! So happy for you both,” one wrote.
“It is so good to see you so happy and thriving. You have a beautiful family,” another added.
“So happy for you! You guys are so cute together and looks [sic] so happy! He seems like a great guy,” a third user commented.
The post comes after her boyfriend got called a “predator” on social media after police and court documents revealed that Dralin got arrested for statutory rape charges in 2019.
The victim in the case was a 15-year-old whose identity was not revealed. The mother of the victim alleged that Carswell climbed through her daughter’s window and had sex with the minor. However, the girl maintained when asked by the police that it was consensual.
The case got dismissed in December 2021 after Dralin completed all the requirements for a pretrial status since it was his first offense.
Aside from the legal trouble, Dralin received some flak for his age gap with Alana and his ethnicity. Honey Boo addressed all the negative comments about their relationship in a sit-down interview with Entertainment Tonight last month.
“I don’t care because, like, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mom approves, and we’re happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say, I don’t really care,” Mama June’s youngest daughter said.
Alana is turning 17 later this month, and she has been considering getting a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve for her weight loss. The reality star will go under the knife to achieve her desired figure with her boyfriend, who also wants to lose weight.
