After a thrilling late victory over New Zealand in the first match of the ODI series, Australia will look to double down in Thursday’s second trans-Tasman clash in Cairns (2.20pm AEST).
Having lost the toss, Australia is 0-0 after one over with Aaron Finch (0) and David Warner (0) at the crease.
Australia will be without the injured Cameron Green, who posted a career best 89 not out – battling severe cramps on the way – to guide Australia home despite a late collapse in the first match.

Alex Carey (85) also starred, but there are major concerns over captain Aaron Finch’s ongoing form slump, having made five single-figure scores in six matches.
Finch also posted a total of just 21 runs across the previous three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, with his lack of runs ahead of the T20 World Cup looming as a serious worry.
Former selector and Australia great Mark Waugh said on Fox Cricket that time is running out for Finch.
“It’s now or never. I think he’s got these two games. He’s got to show something in these two games,” Waugh said.
“He would not be in the side if he wasn’t captain.”
