IKEA Australia is giving customers the chance to pick up second-life furniture and homewares products at a discounted price through its new online shopping platform, As-Is Online.

IKEA Queensland customers were the first to trial the shopping experience from late April, ahead of it now rolling out for all 10 IKEA Australia stores.

Customers can browse in the As-Is Online section of the IKEA website for discontinued items, gently used and ex-showroom displays, as well as pre-loved products returned through the Buy Back service. After reserving their products online, they visit their selected store to complete the purchase and collect their furniture or homewares from the As-Is area.

“Our new As-Is Online platform gives our customers an easy way to shop more sustainably and find the perfect home furnishing products to make their life at home better,” IKEA Australia product recovery leader, Lachlan Mitchell said.

“With the cost of living continuously rising, affordability is top of mind for Australians. As-Is Online could not come at a better time for customers to get a great deal on second-life items, with prices ranging from 20% to 75% off the original product’s price.”

As-Is Online is part of IKEA’s ambition to become climate positive by 2030 by giving usable items a second chance and a second home, minimising unnecessary waste and environmental impact.
