India left-arm wrist spinner bowled a brilliant delivery to dismiss Daryl Mitchell in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, January 29. After the match, Kuldeep Yadav opened up about this and said that he did not plan the dismissal.
The chinaman bowler bowled a short delivery outside the off stump, and it spun massively and hit the off stump straight through Mitchell’s bat and pad gap. The batter had no clue, and he went back to the pavilion with a sloppy look on his face. Kuldeep made a brilliant fielding effort to save a single off the previous delivery.

I Didn’t Plan That Dismissal – Kuldeep Yadav
Speaking to teammates Yuzvendra Chahal and Suryakumar Yadav in a video posted by the BCCI, Kuldeep Yadav said it would be difficult to play deliveries that come on a turning tack.
“I didn’t plan that dismissal (on Mitchell’s dismissal), but the way the pitch was turning, I knew that the incoming deliveries were difficult to negotiate. I was varying my pace well and wasn’t giving much flight as the pitch didn’t demand it,” Kuldeep Yadav said.

I Never Thought I Would Be Able To Achieve This – Yuzvendra Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal feels that it was difficult to score runs on this pitch, saying even 110-120 runs would be a challenging total. The leg-spinner said that it is a special feeling to be the highest wicket-taker for India in any format.
“When I bowled my first ball and it turned square, I had realized that this was that kind of a pitch where even 110-120 was going to be difficult. Since I bowled in the powerplay, I wanted to make sure i don’t go for boundaries and so I bowled a bit quicker,” Chahal said.
“It’s always a great feeling to play for India and when you end up picking the most wickets in any format, it’s always special. I never thought I would be able to achieve this,” he added.
India will take on New Zealand in the third and final T20I of the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Wednesday, February 1.
