In response to 207 target, the Men in Blue had a dreadful start to their innings as they were reduced to 21-3 in 2,1 overs. Skipper Hardik & Suryakumar were slowly building the innings. Chamika Karunaratne was given the 5th over. Karunaratne got smashed for a six on the very first ball of the over but later he made a decent comeback, on the 3rd ball he bowled a Jaffa which bamboozled Hardik and on the very next ball he dismissed Pandya where he went for the drive and edged the ball to the wicket-keeper Kusal Mendis. India’s score was 34-4 at 4.4 overs.
The billion people would be hoping that Suryakumar Yadav plays helluva of knock as it won’t be wrong to say that he is the only hope for India. This is a golden chance for Deepak Hooda to make a strong case for himself. The duo should make sure that they bat deep and take the score closer to the target.
Sri Lanka on the other hand would be pumped up. The visitors would be well aware of the fact that they need to keep picking wickets as one big partnership is enough to spoil all the hard work. It would be interesting to see how Shanaka uses Hasaranga & Theekshana as their overs would be decisive.
