YouTube star turned professional boxer Jake Paul has successfully weighed in for his massive bout with all-time MMA legend Anderson Silva on Sunday – before the young warrior exploded with a ruthless promise to ‘f*** him up’ in the ring.

25-year-old Paul, who boasts a 5-0 record (4KOs), has never fought anyone who is close to the calibre of 47-year-old Silva, one of the greatest fighters in any combat sport history.

Jake Paul (186.5 pounds) weighed in marginally above Anderson Silva (186.1) ahead of their bout, scheduled for eight rounds at a 187-pound catchweight.

After an intense face-off where Paul sprayed his rival with a vicious flurry of words, the pair flexed to the crowd – then crouched down low to the floor for a second face-off.

Paul revealed afterwards: “I said it’s my generation. It’s my time. To be a legend, you’ve got to beat a legend. It’s time for war. I asked him if he’s ready.

“It’s been nice, nice, nice. It’s been sweet, sweet, sweet. I respect that man. But he’s trying to take the food off my plate. He’s trying to stop my run.

“And tomorrow, guess what? I’m f***ing him up! I’m f***ing him up! I’m f***ing him up!”

Paul slammed the microphone against his forehead repeatedly before dancing off stage.

Silva is the betting underdog for the fight despite his hall-of-fame-worthy UFC career. Asked if people had underestimated him and overlooked his legendary record, Silva replied “absolutely.”

“I’m so happy to be here. And tomorrow I go do my best and make a good show for everyone.

“Of course I can win. I’ve trained for that,” he declared.

    PAUL GOES POLITICAL

The ceremonial weigh-ins were also noteworthy for a somewhat surprising political twist, with the round card models holding aloft signs reading “We stand with the women of Iran” after they were introduced.

Then, when Paul arrived on stage for his weigh in, another female member of his entourage held a sign reading: “Support the revolution in Iran #FREEIRAN #MAHSA”.

Protests have enveloped Iran after Mahsa Amini died in police custody on September 16, having been arrested by so-called morality police for allegedly wearing her Islamic headscarf ‘improperly’ in Tehran.

Hundreds of protesters have been reportedly killed in the weeks since then, with police repeatedly using live rounds against protesters across the country.

    OTHER FIGHTS

Social media phenomenon Dr Mike Varshavski is making his professional boxing debut. He declared: “I’m used to saving lives. And now I have to figure out how to do damage inside that ring. For me, I have to suspend my Hippocratic oath not to do damage. But you’ll see a boxer, not a doctor.”

Former MMA fighter Chris Avila gave him a small shove when they squared up, and delivered a barrage of words at his rival.

    But he refused to reveal what he had said, claiming: “I didn’t say s**t. F**k this fool, he’s a piece of s**t. F**k this little b***h, he’s a b***h.”

30-year-old LeVeon Bell stopped fellow NFL veteran Adrian Peterson last month in an exhibition bout. Now he takes the step up in class by taking on former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in his pro boxing debut.

The former NFL star said: “Obviously I’m confident … I’m gonna go out there and showcase my skills.”

The pair were very friendly on the stage, with Hall revealing his message to Bell was: “Let’s just go out there and have some fun … Beat each other up and make some money.”
