Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Praised For Helping Flight Passenger Amid Medical Emergency

Johnny Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez is once again in the spotlight — this time for helping save a flight passenger.

Vasquez was hailed as a real-life “Wonder Woman” after rushing to the aid of an elderly man who suffered a medical emergency during an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York this week, TMZ reported.

The unnamed passenger, who is in his 70s, suddenly collapsed while walking past Vasquez and her bodyguard, who were both sitting in first class, and hit his head.

After the elderly man fell to the ground, flight attendants called for help, and Vasquez and her bodyguard reportedly jumped from their seats to assist them.

Passengers told TMZ that the attorney called her brother-in-law, who is a doctor. He then guided Vasquez to check if the man had suffered a heart attack or brain bleed as a result of the fall.

Vasquez’s bodyguard, whose name was not disclosed, also took off his Apple Watch in order to monitor the unconscious passenger’s heart rate, according to the report.

A surgeon who was on board later came forward to take over for Vasquez and her bodyguard.

The plane eventually returned to Los Angeles International Airport, where the elderly man — conscious at that point — was escorted off the plane by EMTs.

Following the incident, a flight attendant referred to Vasquez as “Wonder Woman” and gifted her a bottle of Merlot and champagne.

Derek Walls, a spokesman for American Airlines, said in a statement to People, “On June 20, American Airlines flight 184 with service from Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK) returned to Los Angeles due to the medical needs of a customer.”

A number of Twitter users hailed Vasquez as a “hero” and showed her with praise after the incident made headlines.

“Camille Vasquez is an example that good people exist. She’s a defender of justice and people in general. #ARealLifeHero,” one person tweeted.

“That woman really is an angel,” another fan wrote.

“Seriously, she’s the epitome of what anyone should strive to be – just an all-around good person that helps people regardless of who they are. [It] helps that she’s one of the best in her profession too,” a third person added.

The news comes weeks after Vasquez, along with fellow attorney Ben Chew and others on Depp’s legal team, helped lead the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, 59, to victory in court following the six-week defamation trial he brought against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Vasquez — who was made partner at her firm, Brown Rudnick, following Depp’s legal win — recently shut down rumors suggesting that her relationship with the actor was more than friendship.

In an interview with People, she slammed the speculation as “unethical” and “sexist” but not surprising. Vasquez emphasized that she’s “very happy in [her] relationship.”
