Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson shared some eyebrow-raising quotes on social media at about the same time last week.
Less than two weeks after news broke that she was expecting her second child with Thompson, 31, the 38-year-old “Kardashians” star took to her Instagram Stories Sunday to post a lengthy but cryptic message about gratitude.
“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to?” Kardashian’s message read. “Be thankful when you don’t know something for it gives you the opportunity to learn.”
She continued, “Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times, you grow. Be thankful for your limitations. Because they give you opportunities for improvement.”
The “Revenge Body” alum’s message about gratitude continued in another slide, saying that one should be thankful for “each new challenge” because it builds strength and character, for mistakes because they teach valuable lessons and for being tired and weary as it means making a difference.
“It is easy to be thankful for the good things. A little or rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks,” the message said, before concluding, “GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.”
Kardashian’s post came shortly after her ex-boyfriend Thompson shared a cryptic message about “responsibility” via his Instagram Stories.
“1. Nothing is promised to you. 2. No one owes you anything. 3. You have all the responsibility in your life,” he wrote Thursday. “Understand these three rules as early as possible and realize that independence is the way forward.”
Three days prior, the Chicago Bulls player uploaded a contemplative photo of himself on Instagram. In the picture, Thompson is wearing an all-white outfit as he poses with a patterned curtain in the background.
“Patterns and details [are] everything,” the caption read.
Earlier this month, a rep for Kardashian, who shares 4-year-old daughter True with Thompson, confirmed that the reality star is expecting her second baby with the NBA player via surrogate.
Despite this, Kardashian and Thompson have not gotten back together and have not spoken since December 2021 outside co-parenting matters, an unnamed source told Page Six.
Their second baby was conceived via surrogate before it was revealed that Thompson fathered a son with another woman when he and Kardashian were still together, according to the outlet’s sources.
In January, a paternity test showed that Thompson is the father of Maralee Nichols’ now-7-month-old son Theo. He is also dad to 5-year-old son Prince with ex Jordan Craig.
