Shytoshi Kusama on Wednesday spilled out a new exciting update on “Shib: The Metaverse,” which hyped the Shib Army.
In a blog post titled, “Shib Army We March On…,” Kusama offered a summary of updates on “Shib: The Metaverse” and mentioned that it would benefit from the upcoming token TREAT. The lead developer was later asked in Shiba Inu Discord if they could give any new information about the community’s metaverse project.
Kusama said they hoped to “get a signed contract tomorrow,” and they would know in the morning. The pseudonymous lead developer said this on Thursday, which means the contract signing will happen anytime Friday.

Unfortunately, Kusama could not disclose more details because of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) but dropped a detail that another deal “having numbers worked out.” Whatever this could be is anybody’s guess. However, former Shiba Inu Growth Breed member and influencer GosshipShib could not help but speculate on what the new development is about.
She toyed with the idea that it could be related to “Shib: The Metaverse” studio. In the blog post, Kusama did mention the studio, noting that they previously had “a few bids for AAA studios” and “were pretty sure either was a good fit,” but claimed that the team is now back on the drawing board since “Marcie and Sherri brought a LARGE number of connections and expertise to the table.”
Kusama said that a critical hire could happen “this week” and noted that the team had “begun discussions with a few more studios to see the best method, technology, and team to build a truly incredible MV.” According to them, “discussions with top-notch studios are still on the table.”
Kusama assured the community that while the development of “Shib: The Metaverse” is “slower” than they would have wanted, they are “hoping for announcements as soon as contracts get sorted.”
As of 4:28 a.m. ET on Friday, SHIB was trading 5.62% at $0.0000111 with a 24-hour volume of $533,737,022 based on the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
