Lala Kent is officially part of “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10.
Kent, 31, previously hinted at a potential exit from the Bravo series during the show’s Season 9 reunion. In fact, the “Give Them Lala” author had been on the fence about returning to “Vanderpump Rules” up until 24 hours before they started filming Season 10.
“I say, like, ‘I’m done’ because it is extremely draining to film a reality TV show. We started filming two days ago. I literally was still deciding if I wanted to come back the night before we even started,” Kent told Us Weekly Friday. “I was ping-ponging. I’m like, ‘Do we do this? Do we not do this?’ And then, you know, I watch one OG episode of ‘Real Housewives of New York’ and I’m itching for a camera to be in my face.”
The Bravo personality noted that the upcoming season would be the first time viewers would see her as “single Lala” and that there’s more to show about that aspect of her life.
“They really haven’t seen that. Even [in] Season 4, I was hooked on my ex, who was kind of this elusive person. And then, you know, James [Kennedy] and I were making out every five seconds, and then I was in a relationship,” she told the outlet. “And this is the first time that people are gonna see me completely single — thinking about my child, venturing into the dating world. So that part I’m super excited for.”
Kent and her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett split in October 2021 after three years of engagement and nearly six years together. They share 16-month-old daughter Ocean.
In December last year, Kent shared a cryptic post on her Instagram Story about “fake” friendships, shortly after hinting about her future on the Bravo reality show in an episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast.
“I don’t know if that’s the space for me anymore,” Kent said on her podcast of “Vanderpump Rules.”
She implied that it was because of her relationship with her co-stars, saying: “After that reunion, I sat back and thought, ‘Is this the space for me anymore or do we need to do some soul-searching?'”
The reunion was filmed after Kent ended her relationship with Emmett and accused him of cheating on her. She claimed that none of her co-stars, except Raquel Leviss, reached out to her to ask how she was doing amid her highly publicized split from the film producer.
“I left that reunion feeling not much resolve. I left feeling a bit alone and isolated,” Kent claimed.
The new season of “Vanderpump Rules” will also feature Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s relationship after they split earlier this year following nearly three years of marriage. She filed for divorce in March, just days after she and Schwartz confirmed their separation.
Kent shared an update on Maloney during her interview with Us Weekly, saying her co-star seemed genuinely happy and “lighter” after the breakup.
“I’ve always said it’s a luxury to see Katie when she’s in, like, a vulnerable state,” Kent said. “And I’ve seen that throughout her separation and her divorce, and she’s opened up to me a lot. She comes across [as] very tough and I’ve tried to explain to her, like, ‘People are gonna think you’re doing just fine because of what you portray.’ But, there’s something about her eyes. I know that sounds so weird, but they just look happy.”
No premiere date has been announced yet for “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10.
