Lamar Odom threw shade at his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian as he compared her to another one of his exes, Taraji P. Henson.
During a recent interview with Page Six, Odom, 42, was asked to choose which ex he would most like to get back together with, and the former Laker was quick to pick the acclaimed actress.
“Because I love Taraji. It’s a love thing. It’s about who you love,” he told the outlet.
Henson and Odom dated in 2009. He broke up with her and got together with Kardashian, whom he married later that year after just a few weeks of dating.
“Taraji is a cool girl. Matter fact she’s here [in L.A.]. I got to see her at the BET Awards in June. So maybe I’ll get to shoot my shot at her again,” Odom told Page Six.
The former basketball player then compared his two exes, saying: “I think the difference between Taraji and Khloe is how they were brought up. Their upbringing, which makes people different and [affects] the way they think. I think Taraji is more skillful in what she does as an actress compared to what Khloe does.”
But though he picked the “Empire” actress, Odom said Kardashian was “a great wife.”
Odom and Kardashian had a tumultuous relationship, during which the former athlete was unfaithful and was using drugs. They split in 2013 but didn’t finalize their divorce until three years later. In 2015, the Good American founder stayed by her ex’s side as he fought for his life following a near-fatal overdose.
Odom had been vocal about his desire to reconcile with Kardashian earlier this year.
In one episode of “Celebrity Big Brother,” which aired in February, he opened up about his past romance with Kardashian to co-stars Cynthia Bailey, Carson Kressley and Miesha “Cupcake” Tate, sharing that he’s “never thought about getting married again” following their divorce.
Odom claimed that he would “try [his] damndest” to win back Kardashian and would take her to dinner if she would be open to reconnecting.
“It would be a blessing just to be in her presence to just tell her I’m sorry and what a fool I was,” he said in a confessional. “She has the right to never see me again for the things I put her through, but time moves on and people change. I would say I’m a lot more loyal now.”
It was reported earlier this month that Kardashian is currently dating a new mystery man. Her new romance is still in its early stages, but she feels really good with him, an unnamed source told People.
Her sister, Kim Kardashian, reportedly introduced her to her private equity investor beau, whose name was not disclosed, during a dinner party a few weeks ago.
