Indian Cricket Team is set to kickstart the new year with a T20I Series against Sri Lanka commencing on 3rd January (Tuesday). Hardik Pandya has been given the reins for the T20I Series. This T20I Series is expected to be a thrilling one as both teams are evenly matched.

All eyes would be on Wanindu Hasaranga as his 4 overs are quite decisive. The skipper Dasun Shanaka should use Hasaranga in 3 spells where he has the knack of picking wickets and at the same time he can also provide some lusty blows at the back end of the innings.

Hardik Pandya on Test Cricket

Hardik Pandya was having an interaction with the media ahead of 1st T20I match against Sri Lanka and was asked about his return to Test Cricket. “Let me be fully in blues first, then I will see about the whites. I know the language of hard work. I have been thrown here and there. The only thing that has got me back is my hard work. How I am going to manage is through by hard work. Keep working hard; make sure I look after my body.” said Hardik Pandya.

“Injuries and all that are part of the game. I can’t change it. But I am very confident about everything that I have done. I believe in my processes, which have got me here. Going forward as well, I am going to make sure that I give my body ample chance to be at its best.” he added.

Uphill Task for Sri Lanka

The island nation’s ultra-attacking approach could be risky for them. A lot will depend on how the middle order batters like Asalanka & Rajapaksa fare as they have the knack of playing long & effective knocks for the team as every-time the openers won’t lay a solid foundation for the team.

Skipper Hardik Pandya should bat at No.4 or No.5 position as he is someone who can make an impact in the middle overs phase.  All eyes would  be on Yuzvendra Chahal as the spinner didn’t feature against Bangladesh which was quite a surprise.
