There are 11 list spots remaining in the AFL ahead of the 2023 season, with nine clubs still having vacancies to fill.

Additionally, seven players have already begun to press their claims to secure some of these spots.

The AFL confirmed on Monday that Collingwood, Fremantle, Geelong, Hawthorn, Melbourne, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs all had a list spot available, while Gold Coast and St Kilda had two.

At Collingwood, West Adelaide ruckman Oscar Steene was confirmed to be training with the club in a bid to shore up the side’s final rookie spot.

Liam Serong, the younger brother of Fremantle midfielder Caleb and Hawthorn rookie Jai, is training at the Dockers along with Perth Football Club forward Sam Stubbs.

At Melbourne, Trent Burgoyne, the son of Port Adelaide great Peter, is looking to make it onto the list of his second AFL club after his time at Port Adelaide ended with no senior debut.

Frankston product Kye Turner is also training at the Dees.

Former Essendon key position prospect Josh Eyre is training with St Kilda after being unable to breakthrough for an AFL debut at the Bombers in his first two seasons.

Also training with Eyre at Essendon is Liam Stocker, who played 28 senior games across four seasons at Carlton.

The former pick No.19 managed just six games at senior level under Michael Voss in 2022.
