English champions Manchester City are looking to win their third Premier League title in as many years after signing exciting young prospect Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian striker is one of the biggest names in world football at the moment, even though he’s only 22 years old.

Haaland signed from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of $87 million (AUD), and created some incredible family history by doing so.

The talented goal scorer joined the Citizens almost exactly 22 years after his father Alf-Inge joined the club.

But being a marquee signing for one of the biggest spenders in world football comes with plenty of pressure, and some critics as well.

Haaland, who scored 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund, had a competitive debut to forget after squandering a golden chance in the dying stages against Liverpool in the Community Shield.

He said that he won’t let it affect him as he prepares for a potential Premier League debut away to West Ham this weekend.

“You are a kind of entertainer. You get judged every single week for what you do on the pitch and you have to deliver and do your best,” Haaland told Sky Sports.

“For me as a striker, this is something I cannot stress about because if you think too much, you might up doing things you don’t want to do.

“It’s going to be tough and this is the charming thing about the Premier League. It’s a beautiful, hard competition, that’s why it’s the most popular league in the world.”

Haaland has his pick of clubs after his sensational stint with Dortmund, who were his fifth club already in his professional career.

City great Sergio Aguero said that it’ll take some time for the striker to get comfortable playing in England.

But Haaland said that the demands of playing under Pep Guardiola was the reason behind his decision to move to Manchester.

“As a young player, playing for Pep Guardiola, playing for the best club in England, I have to keep developing and get better at a lot of things,” he added.

“That’s what I like a lot about football, you can always develop, you can always get better at the game.

“Part of the game is to get out of your comfort zone which is something I’ve been doing and something I like because you can develop more as a human being as well.”
