Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have sparked rumors of a second tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey after they visited the TV legend during the weekend.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted driving to Winfrey’s home in Montecito, California, Saturday afternoon, Page Six reported.
Photos obtained by Daily Mail showed Prince Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, who are close friends with Winfrey and also live in Montecito, heading to the media mogul’s mansion in a black Range Rover, with the prince behind the wheel sporting sunglasses and a baseball hat.
Markle took the back seat, while a woman believed to be her pal Janina Gavankar sat in the passenger’s seat up front, according to the outlet.
A car seat was fastened into the seat beside Markle. However, it’s unclear if her and Prince Harry’s children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, were with them in the car.
The couple’s bodyguards followed closely behind in another black Range Rover.
The sighting sparked rumors on social media that Prince Harry and Markle may be planning to sit down with Winfrey for a second interview, more than a year after their bombshell CBS tell-all aired in March 2021.
“Another interview will keep the fact-checkers busy. Go for it,” one Twitter user wrote.
“[It’s] getting to a point now where as soon as the couple does anything, there are people waiting to pounce just to criticize them. If they want to speak to Oprah, they can. They’re grown people. Enough stories have been leaked about [them] for years. And @DailyMailUK won’t leave them alone because of lawsuits,” another commented.
“Hopefully, [Winfrey will have] tougher questions this time,” a third netizen opined.
But while Prince Harry and Markle have not announced any future interviews, including with Winfrey, some Twitter users made it clear that they don’t think it would be a good idea.
“No one wanted the first Oprah, a second would be a disaster,” one user tweeted.
Prince Harry and Markle made allegations against the royal family and shared never-before-heard details about their lives before and after stepping down from their royal duties in 2020 during their March 2021 tell-all interview with Winfrey.
The duchess detailed having suicidal thoughts during her first pregnancy and claimed that an unnamed royal family member had asked about how “dark” her son Archie’s skin would be before he was born.
Markle also addressed the reports claiming that she left Kate Middleton in tears leading up to her royal wedding to Prince Harry due to a disagreement regarding bridesmaid dresses, telling Winfrey that “the reverse happened.”
At the time, Buckingham Palace responded to the interview with a statement saying, “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately,” the statement continued. “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
Prince Harry currently has a memoir in the works about his life as a royal. He and Markle are also filming a docuseries for Netflix, Page Six reported.
