PORT’S ‘CONCERNS’ OVER GEORGIADES’ FUTURE, EYES PICKETT

Port Adelaide has an “element of concern” Mitch Georgiades could be pried by the West Coast Eagles, according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.

The Western Australian forward, who the Eagles had their sights on when he was a teenager, is contracted for 2023, however earlier this year declined to sign on with the Power beyond next season.

It comes after an indifferent campaign for the 20-year old, booting 23 goals from 19 games and getting dropped to the SANFL twice.

Edmund revealed that Georgiades’ name hasn’t been raised in trade discussions for Junior Rioli, who’s expected to request a move to Port.

Meanwhile Edmund also reports the Power continue to circle Demons young gun Kysaiah Pickett, who was drafted from SANFL side Woodville-West Torrens.

It’s believed Pickett isn’t enamoured with Melbourne but loves playing for the for the Demons. He’s also contracted for next season.

SAINTS ‘IN THE DARK’ OVER HILL’S PLANS

St Kilda is “completely in the dark” about Brad Hill’s plans for next year, reports Edmund.

It emerged last month that the 29-year old, who’s made 211 AFL appearances for the Hawks, Dockers and Saints, was open to joining a fourth club including a link to North Melbourne to play under his former coach Alastair Clarkson.

If Hill, who’s been much maligned during his time at St Kilda, does depart Moorabbin, it’d come three years into a lucrative long-term deal signed in 2019 reportedly worth around $900,000 per season.

Edmund revealed a move to Arden Street could be in the works, not that the Saints are currently aware.

“The Saints are still, as of this morning, completely in the dark about Brad Hill’s intentions for next year. But the jungle drums continue to beat on a reunion for him and Alastair Clarkson at North Melbourne,” he said on SEN.

“He’s got two years to run on a five-year deal at the Saints, as we know, worth up around the $900,000 a year mark. North would be his fourth club, stints at Hawthorn, Fremantle and the Saints, so he’s been prepared to move clubs in the past, even in contract.

“So that one is certainly doing the rounds and has been strongly whispered for some time, even though the Saints – officially – say they’re in the dark.”

    DOCKERS CHASING SUNS PAIR

Fremantle is pursuing Gold Coast Suns duo Jeremy Sharp and Josh Corbett, reports journalist Tom Browne.

It comes as the Dockers prepare for a mini exodus with the likes of Rory Lobb and Blake Acres to depart to make way for Luke Jackson, who officially requested a trade to either WA club on Tuesday.

Fremantle’s bid for the 21-year old Sharp, who’s contract for next season, is a new link. The winger struggled to cement a spot in Gold Coast’s best 22 this year — playing 12 games but showing plenty of promise.

Meanwhile the Dockers’ interest in Corbett has previously been reported amid a strong VFL season from the out-of-contract forward, booting 24 goals from 10 matches.

It included a best-on-ground performance from the 26-year old in the Suns’ elimination final win over Box Hill — booting 4.4 with 17 marks and 25 touches — in front of several rival clubs including Fremantle watching on.
