More Ice Cream Recalled Over Allergy Risk

In another ice cream recall, H-E-B is pulling half gallons of its Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream due to a possible allergen risk that could be life-threatening for some people who consume the product.

The affected ice cream contains wheat, which was not declared on the product label and could pose a serious allergic reaction for some individuals.

H-E-B discovered the issue when some containers of its Creamy Creations Light Cookies & Cream Ice Cream, which contains wheat, were incorrectly labeled as Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.

The recalled ice cream was sold in H-E-B stores in Texas and Mexico as well as Mi Tienda stores in Texas. The product has a UPC number of 4122048399 and a best-by date of Jan. 6, 2023.

The notice comes just weeks after Big Olaf brand ice cream recalled all of its flavors due to a risk of Listeria contamination..

H-E-B said it has removed all impacted products from store shelves and it has not received any reports of illness related to the recall to date.

The company is issuing refunds for the recalled ice cream. Consumers can take the product to their nearest H-E-B store for a full refund.
