On Monday, January 16, the 25-year-old star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took to Twitter to provide a positive update, asserting that his surgery was successful and his road to recovery has started.
Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a road accident on Friday, December 30, 2022. He met with the accident in the early hours of Friday when he was driving from New Delhi to Roorkee in Uttarakhand to pay a surprise visit to his family. His Mercedes GLE car collided with the divider railings on the Delhi-Haridwar highway and then turned a few times before catching fire.

After the horrific car crash, Rishabh Pant was taken to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre for initial treatment before being shifted to the Max Hospital in Dehradun. Later, he was shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he is currently admitted.
Rishabh Pant sustained multiple injuries after the car accident, including a ligament tear in his right knee and he has undergone successful surgery.

Rishabh Pant took to Twitter to state that he is grateful for all the support and good wishes. He also thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), BCCI secretary Jay Shah and the government authorities for providing him with incredible support.
“I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thank you to the @BCCI , @JayShah & government authorities for their incredible support,” Rishabh Pant tweeted.
“From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to see you all on the field. #grateful #blessed,” the wicketkeeper-batter further wrote.
