Selig Enterprises will build a pedestrian bridge to link Ansley Mall to the forthcoming Atlanta BeltLine Northeast Trail that will run adjacent to the property.

The bridge is part of a larger capital improvement plan for the 16-acre shopping center, which will include an outdoor space that will act as a “front door” to the BeltLine.

The Ansley Mall BeltLine bridge is slated to open in late 2023, according to a press release from Selig.

The second phase of the Atlanta BeltLine Northeast Trail will include 1.2 miles of paved trail, lighting and security cameras. The pedestrian bridge will allow Ansley Park and Piedmont Heights residents direct access to the multi-use trail. The bridge will span 105 feet and will avoid any environmental impact to the surrounding nature.

“Ansley Mall, established in the early 1960s, enjoys a prime location in the center of Midtown’s most established residential areas. We consider the BeltLine pedestrian bridge as an investment in these beautiful neighborhoods, whose residents have patronized and supported Ansley Mall for decades”, said Shirley Gouffon, SVP at Selig Enterprises, in the press release. “This enhancement to the property has been thoughtfully planned to create an authentic and approachable experience from the new BeltLine Northeast Trail as well as direct access to over 45 Atlanta neighborhoods via the trail network”.

Selig is in the conceptual stage of determining capital improvements to enhance what is now the rear of the property to create “an inviting sense of arrival” to Ansley Mall.

Ansley Mall, owned by Selig since 1972, is home to local shops like The Cook’s Warehouse, Ansley Wine Merchants, Phidippides, Brooklyn Bagel, Intaglia Home Collection, and more.
