North Melbourne has appointed a new national recruiting manager, six months after three of the recruiting and list management staff departed the club.
Will Thursfield was announced in the role on Thursday after a five-year stint as recruiting officer at Richmond.
Thursfield played 77 senior games for the Tigers between 2005 and 2011.

“Will comes to us with great experience, he is no stranger to the AFL landscape after his time as a player and an administrator,” head of football talent Brady Rawlings said.
“Will is a person of high-end character and we are thrilled he is joining our club to take the next step forward in his career.”
In May, the Roos lost national recruiting manager Mark Finnigan and list manager Glenn Luff, which followed the departure of national recruiting officer Ben Birthisel mere days before.
Those departures came just over one week before the mid-season draft, which raised eyebrows across the competition.
