Carlton will front the AFL Appeals Board in a last-ditch attempt to overturn captain Patrick Cripps’ two-match ban for rough conduct.
The AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night upheld the Match Review Officer’s decision to ban Cripps for his “bumping” Callum Ah Chee during Sunday’s game against Brisbane Lions.
A grading of careless conduct with high impact and high contact was handed down and then upheld by the Tribunal.

There are only four grounds for appeal for an AFL Tribunal decision:
– Error of law
– That the decision was so unreasonable that no Tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decisions having regard to the evidence before it
– Classification of offence manifestly excessive or inadequate
– Sanction imposed manifestly excessive or inadequate.
