Princess Charlotte just made her first solo engagement with her parents, and she seemed to have had a lot of fun.
The 7-year-old royal is usually accompanied by her older brother, Prince George, 9, whenever they attend engagements with their dad Prince William and mom Kate Middleton. But on Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge only took Princess Charlotte for a swim meet when they showed up in Birmingham, England, as part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, People reported.
Prince William and Middleton’s only daughter wore a navy-and-white striped dress with a peasant collar. She paired it with strappy white sandals. She looked adorable in her braids.
Middleton looked stunning in her all-white outfit consisting of a tank top, blazer and fitted trousers. She rocked a matching white belt with a silver buckle, round silver earrings and a matching necklace.
Prince William opted for a light blue polo shirt under a navy blazer. The future king paired it with beige pants and brown shoes.
Princess Charlotte was all smiles during the outing. She was also photographed receiving expert guidance from her mom while they watched the event. At one point, she was spotted smiling while giving her dad a thumbs up.
They later met some of the up-and-coming athletes and their support staff. They also joined an interactive workshop alongside some athletes who received practical advice on nutrition and restful sleep.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared some snaps from the outing on Twitter. Several royal fans were happy to see Princess Charlotte with her parents at the Commonwealth Games.
“So cute to see Princess Charlotte today! Hope you all enjoyed watching the games,” one commented. Another fan wrote, “Thank you for taking Princess Charlotte with you. She’s such a sweetheart.”
“Such a wonderful surprise to see Princess Charlotte today,” a third person added with multiple smiling faces with heart-eyes and red heart emojis.
Prince William recently revealed that his daughter is a “budding star” in soccer. She even joined the Duke of Cambridge in cheering on the Lionesses for the Women’s Euro 2022 finals. The Lionesses ended the 56-year soccer title drought by bringing home its first European championship.
“We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck tonight, you’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way!” Prince Willam said in a video message before the championship, before Princess Charlotte added, “Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!”
