Ravichandran Ashwin, a veteran of Team India, believes that a combined effort will be more than sufficient to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final for a second consecutive year. With just one obstacle left—a ruthless Australian team captained by Pat Cummins—the Men in Blue are on the verge of qualifying.
Ashwin had a fantastic Test series in Bangladesh. India has a chance to earn significant points and get to the World Test Championship final during the four-match series against Australia.

Team India’s future is in their own hands as South Africa and Sri Lanka fall in the standings.
In an interview with the New Indian Express, the off-spinner admitted that he is not putting any pressure on himself regarding Team India’s aspirations of qualifying for the WTC final:

“I think I’m well past the stage where I say I’m taking so much responsibility or getting pressurized or bogged down by all these things. I mean, we should also be able to share our workload and lean on our teammates to do the job. We’ve got a quality setup that, I expect, will help us deliver.”
“Expectations are going to be there”: Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin demonstrated his quality with an outstanding performance in the second Test against Bangladesh in December 2022.
His all-round performance, which featured six wickets and a nerveless 42 in the fourth innings, helped India win the series 2-0.
“When you play for India, expectations are going to be there. You’re bound to have expectations. But you can’t allow that to bog yourself down. You know, I am someone who lives for the big moments and pressure moments.”

With successful tours of Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2022, Pat Cummins and the company have recently performed admirably on the subcontinent. They are also currently taking advantage of a brutal home season.
