Los Angeles, California, — Hollywood producer and writer Eric Weinberg, who worked as a co-executive producer for hit series, “Scrubs” and “Californication,” was arrested on multiple sexual assault charges for a series of rapes he allegedly committed over the past decade, police said.

Weinberg was arrested from his home in Los Feliz in Los Angeles on July 14, in connection with the sexual assaults he allegedly committed between 2012 and 2019, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release.

According to the investigators, Weinberg targeted his victims in Los Angeles, who were in their 20s and 30s, after spotting them in public places like grocery shops and coffee shops. He would approach the unsuspecting victims with an offer of a photoshoot at his home.

Once they were brought to his residence on the pretext of the photoshoot, he would then sexually assault them, police said, NY Post reported.

Although Weinberg’s arrest is in connection with the sexual assault cases that happened in the past decade, investigators believe that there could be additional victims. The crimes could even date back as late as the early 1990s, police said.

Cops are now encouraging the “unidentified victims” to come forward and report the incident.

The case will reportedly be turned over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. “When the case is submitted, we will review it and determine if charges are appropriate,” a spokesperson for L.A. District Attorney George Gascón’s office told news outlet Deadline.

Weinberg coproduced more than 100 episodes of Scrubs from 2001-2007, a comedy-drama series that was run on NBC and later on ABC. He also worked as a producer of Showtime’s “Californication” and “Anger Management” on FX.

The accused was nominated for five Emmy awards for his work as a writer on “Politically Incorrect” and for his contribution to Scrubs. His other works include Veronica’s Closet, Wilfred, American Dad! and Graves.

Weinberg is currently held on a $3,225,000 bail.

Anyone with information regarding the case can contact the investigating officers at (323)561-3272 or 39284@lapd.online.
