Tatum Registers Most-Ever Turnovers In NBA Playoffs History

Jayson Tatum struggled a bit for the Boston Celtics, one of the things that will likely be singled out, as the Golden State Warriors bagged the 2022 NBA title in six games.

The victory was made even harder to swallow by the fact that the Warriors won it on the Celtics’ home floor at the iconic TD Garden.

On the heels of his first NBA Finals appearance, Tatum had his share of top moments during the entire stretch.

However, there was also a glaring statistic that will be credited to him and his NBA career.

A look at StatMuse shows that the three-time All-Star finished the 2022 NBA Finals with 100 turnovers. This was reportedly the most recorded for any player in the league’s postseason history.

The 24-year-old finished with only 13 points, three rebounds, and seven assists for the Cs in Game 6 on Thursday, June 16 as he took a back seat to Jaylen Brown, who erupted for 34 markers, seven boards, and three dimes.

Although Tatum tried his best to perform well, he was conspicuously absent as Andrew Wiggins clamped him down.

For players like Tatum, it is an experience that will help them get better moving forward.

Celtics head coach Ime Udoka will need to figure out what went wrong in their NBA Finals stint, and the offseason will be an interesting avenue for the Cs as to how they will charge this loss to the Dubs to experience.
