Takafumi and his uncle continue their journey as they discuss the events that happened in Granbahamal, according to the spoilers of “Uncle from Another World” Episode 2.
The official synopsis and spoiler stills of Episode 2 are out now. Uncle, who is an avid SEGA enthusiast, manages to grab the record of the Satamaga reader race at an online auction. Later, he starts talking about a girl he met in the other world.
In the opening episode of the series, Takafumi visited his uncle in the hospital. He was hit by a truck 17 years ago and he was in a coma ever since.
However, he came out of his coma and was mumbling in a different language. Takafumi was confused and suddenly, his uncle switched back to Japanese, informing him that he came back after spending 17 years in Granbahamal.
Fortunately, he was able to recognize Takafumi and the injury did not ruin his memory. Later, Takafumi was surprised when his uncle could move things with magic. He realized the uncle was not losing his mind but something happened that changed him forever. Takafumi was shocked and asked how he was able to do it.
His uncle ignored his query and went on to ask him about the console war and if SEGA was winning.
Takafumi told him that currently Sony and Nintendo were dominating the console market in Japan. The uncle was getting anxious as he continued to ask about SEGA.
It turned out that he is a massive SEGA fan. He was disappointed to find out the company stopped making consoles a while ago.
The anime is based on the original story by Hotondoshindeiru. Shigeki Kawai is the director, while Kenta Ihara is handling the scripts and series composition. The character design is by Kazuhiro Ota and the art direction is by Yoshito Takamine.
The opening theme of “Uncle from Another World” anime, titled “story,” is performed by Mayu Maeshima. The ending theme song, titled “Ichibanboshi Sonority,” is by Yuka Iguchi.
“Uncle from Another World” Episode 2 is scheduled to air Wednesday. Fans in the U.S. can watch the episode online on Netflix. The episode will live stream in Japanese with English subtitles.
The anime is titled “Isekai Ojisan” in Japanese.
