Alto Goldfield, a student at Royal Ortigia Magic Academy, is struggling at school. However, he desires to become a top-class magician.
“Vermeil in Gold” Episode 1 introduces Alto, who is about to fail a class on summoning magic. He might have to repeat a year because he seems to have no talent when it comes to summoning.
He tries and accidentally summons a depraved-looking demon called Vermeil. Alto wants to enjoy a simple academic life but with the arrival of Vermeil, things are about to get complicated.
Vermeil is one of the most dreaded entities from ancient times and is known to violate the laws of the land and cause massive destruction.
Can Alto work with Vermeil without causing any sort of destruction?

Rather than take a more sensible approach to salvaging his grades in time for graduation, Alto decides to summon a bit of otherworldly assistance. “But while Vermeil is a powerful ally sure to turn his grades around, her magic can only be replenished with a kiss, and that makes everything go to hell with Alto’s jealous childhood friend, Lilia. Looks like Alto just unleashed a whole new world of devilish mayhem in Vermeil in Gold: A Desperate Magician Barges Into the Magical World Alongside the Strongest Calamity!” it continued.
The cast of the anime includes Maaya Uchida as Vermeil, Wakana Kuramochi as Lilia Kudelfeyt, Yuya Hirose as Alto Goldfield, Kana Hanazawa as Elena Kimberlight, Kaori Ishihara as Sharol Iridescence, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shin’ouji Ryūga, Riho Sugiyama as Jessica Schwarz, Sakura Nakamura as François, Takehito Koyasu as Obsidian, Yuu Okano as Marcus Parston and Yurina Amami as Chris Westland.
The anime is based on the original work by Kota Amana and Yoko Umezu.
“Vermeil in Gold” Episode 1 is scheduled to air Tuesday. Fans in the U.S. can watch the episode online on Hidive in Japanese with English subtitles.
