Indian Cricket Team is all set to clash against Sri Lanka for the 3rd ODI on 14th January (Sunday). It has been quite a fruitful ODI Series for the Men in Blue. The left-arm off-spinner Axar Patel had bowled only 5 overs in the 2nd ODI but took a crucial wicket of Dhananjay de Silva and gave away 16 runs in his spell.

Sri Lanka would be aiming for a better performance with the bat this time. The island nation is missing someone who could play the role of the anchor which is a must in modern cricket. Perhaps, the visitors need to bring back Dinesh Chandimal or Angelo Matthews back in the ODI setup.

    Vikram Rathour on Axar Patel

Vikram Rathour was seen attending press conference ahead of 3rd ODI and was asked about Axar Patel. “He is really batting well at the moment. We always believed that he had a lot of potential with the bat. He has worked on it The kind of all-rounders we have, three guys can bat really well. Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and I am sure Ravindra Jadeja will back soon. As a team it gives us extra options.’‘ said Vikram Rathour.

    Conundrum for Management

Kuldeep Yadav was the player of the match in the 2nd ODI where he took 3 scalps and gave away 51 runs in 10 overs. The left arm chinaman bowled wicket to wicket. It would be interesting to see whether Chahal replaces Kuldeep as he was ruled out of the 2nd ODI due to an injury.

There have been some reports which suggest that Ishan Kishan may get a chance in the place of Shubman Gill in order to manage his workload. India should not take Sri Lanka as it won’t be wrong to say that the visitors would be eager to spoil the party of India.
