Elizabeth Olsen still has not seen “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
Olsen made the revelation when she appeared on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday and discussed her latest Marvel movie, which has made more than $950 million at the worldwide box office since premiering in May.
The actress told host Jimmy Fallon that she prefers to watch her performances in order “to study something so [she] can figure out how to make it better.”
However, she missed the premiere of the “Doctor Strange” sequel after coming down with a cold. But when Disney sent her a watermarked screener, she refused to watch it because it was just too “distracting.”
“I had a cold when we had the premiere and I didn’t want to sit through it,” Olsen told Fallon. “And so I asked them to send a copy so I could watch it, and it had my name on it and it had the time that I was watching it, and I didn’t want to watch it like that.”
“My name was on it and the exact time and date. It’s just distracting,” she added.
Fallon explained to the audience that screeners are typically watermarked to prevent those with access from bootlegging them to illegally sell.
Olsen chimed in, saying, “How do you even do that? Who do you even send it to? How do you even record it on a computer?”
As for what awaits her character Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the franchise, the actress has no clue and is also in the dark.
Her Disney+ series “WandaVision” is getting an Agatha Harkness spinoff, while there are rumors that a Scarlet Witch standalone project is in development, Variety reported.
“I would love to be a part of both of those,” Olsen said on “The View.” “No one tells me anything, and I’m not even hiding a secret, because I’m bad at that. I know nothing about my future…Keep spreading rumors and maybe they’ll hire me again.”
Last month, Olsen revealed which Magneto actor she would want to play her character’s father if there was a future project that would introduce the X-Men and address other details about Wanda’s past in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In Marvel Comics, Wanda is the daughter of Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, who, in the movies, has been played by two actors so far – Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender.
“I’m gonna go with Sir Ian McKellen,” Olsen told Geek Culture. “I had the biggest crush on him. He’s in these videos called Playing Shakespeare where actors get together and they do a Shakespeare… It’s a video series. He’s like the sexiest man in the world so I would say Sir Ian McKellen.”
The “Lord of the Rings” actor, 82, is apparently open to the idea as he responded to her comments via Facebook: “If I had a daughter, I’d hope she’d be like Elizabeth. A treat to be her Daddy!”
