Wrestlemania 39 will be held on the weekend of April 1-2 in 2023 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
WWE’s biggest show of the year became a two-night event with WrestleMania 37 last year. According to WWE, WrestleMania 38 drew 156,352 fans at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas over two nights on April 2 and 3.
This year’s WrestleMania received 1.1 billion video views across social media platforms, according to WWE. Stone Cold Steve Austin made his return for the event, wrestling in an official match for the first time in 19 years.
There has been speculation that The Rock could return for next year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles. The Hollywood star would almost certainly face Roman Reigns if he comes back to WWE for a match.
Next year’s WrestleMania will mark the fourth time ever and the first time in 18 years that the event will take place in L.A. In 1999, The Rock and Stone Cold fought in the main event of WrestleMania 15 in Philadelphia.
“Philadelphia is excited to host WrestleMania for the first time in 25 years,” said Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau President & CEO Gregg Caren. “The combination of Philadelphia’s passionate fans joining forces with WWE’s worldwide fan base will create an incredible electricity throughout the city for the events at Lincoln Financial Field, Wells Fargo Center and the Pennsylvania Convention Center.”
The announcement of the 2024 WrestleMania comes just days after Vince McMahon retired as WWE’s CEO and head of creative.
