RHP Stephen Ridings (right shoulder impingement)
Expected return: Possibly September
The Yankees have optimism that Ridings may be able to pitch in the big leagues this season, pitching coach Matt Blake told NJ Advance Media. On the 60-day injured list since April 5, Ridings has been tossing bullpen sessions at Cressey Sports Performance in Jupiter, Fla. and could soon return to the Yanks’ complex in Tampa, Fla. Blake said that, for a period, the Yankees feared Ridings might need thoracic outlet surgery. Instead, he is again throwing without discomfort, sitting between 92-95 mph with his fastball.
